Short summary (Apr 6th, 2022):
Around 70 miles / 111 km and 9 hrs on the road.
The first 30 miles today were very nice on a separate bike track, followed by a section on A1, then again on more quiet roads through Daytona and crossing the Halifax River along the beaches.
This day began with around 30 miles / 50 km super nice bike trail that is part of the Coast-to-Coast Trail (more information on Florida Hikes).
On this trail – a turtle.
Later we had a section on A1 and then passed through Daytona on some smaller roads.
Arriving in Ormond Beach, it started to rain – but luckily, there was a Starbucks to wait until the strongest rain had gone (nevertheless we got some warm rain later on ..).
Finally, we arrived along the coast to Flagler Beach. On our way, we saw the first long-distance cyclist who was heading south to Key West.
In Flagler Beach, we had dinner and some beers in the Coquina Coast Brewery.
