Day 61: Waldoboro – Belfast

Short summary (May 28th, 2022):
Today we cycled around 50 miles / 80 km in about 7 hours with a this the wind in our back.
First we followed the greenway on smaller roads, the we took US-1 after Rockland (as there was not so much traffic on a Saturday) until arriving in Belfast.

Starting at Moody‘s Diner, we had a lot of mist on our route until Thomaston:

Then we decided to take US-1 (as we cycled on a weekend, the traffic & esp. trucks were rather moderate) with a break in Camden as well as at Green Tree Coffee and Tea until Belfast. We hoped to get some views on the sea, but there still was a lot of mist.

We were very warmly welcome at our stay in Belfast by Cathy and Carl at the Jeweled Turret Inn. Note the different stones at the oven from all US states that were present when the house was built around 1900….

We were extremely lucky as we arrived and reached today‘s brewery (Marshall Wharf Brewing) …

… just a few minutes before a thunderstorm reached Belfast.
