Day 27: Oxford (NC) – South Hill (VA)

Short summary (Apr 24th, 2022):
We did around 65 miles / 104 km today in about 8 hrs with nice weather.
The route followed mainly small roads through farmland so it was a quiet and pleasant day.

We started early this morning in Oxford as temperatures are again in the 80s during the day. After around 25 miles, we passed the state border to Virgina. Whilst the East Coast Greenway was nicely signposted in North Carolina, the signage disappeared in Virgina.

During the day, we passed Roanoke River / Kerr Lake at Clarksville

… and came later through Boydton.

During the day, we had to inflate several times Christoph‘s rear tire as a hole from yesterday would regularly open up again (too large for the sealent). So we darted it in the evening – hopefully it works better tomorrow. And we have already made an appointment at a bicycle mechanic in Washington DC. Our rear tires are quite worn down …

And – no brewery here in South Hill. But some nice food and talks at Luca‘s Restaurant.

  1. Dieter Lukesch says:
