Short summary (Apr 23rd, 2022):
Today, we cycled around 68 miles / 109 km in 9 hrs again through gentle hills in good weather with almost no wind.
After rejoining the greenway, we followed two very nice trails (White Oak Creek Trail and American Tobacco Trail) for more than 25 miles until Durham. After Durham around 30 miles on the Old Oxford Highway.
This morning started very nice with two long trails – the White Oak Creek Trail and the American Tobacco Trail. On both trails many people walking, running and cycling on this nice Saturday morning. The second trail runs along the former track of the Durham & South Carolina Railroad.
We took a break at the Southpoint Mall with nice fountains …
… and dropped by the East Coast Greenway Office – but no one working on Saturday 🙂
A few impressions of Durham and then the Old Oxford Highway. Along the highway, we passed the large Butner correctional complex and the historic Stagville site.
But the highlight of the day – the evening at Tobacco Wood Brewing with cool beer, nice food and good live music.
