Our flights went from Zurich via New York/Newark to Key West. Nothing sepcial, but having two bikes in boxes with us made it a bit more cumbersome. So we were quite happy as soon as we had them checked in.
Our flight departed from Zurich in the eastern direction so we flew over the Bodensee.
Unfortunately, we couldn‘t check our luggage through so in Newark, we had to collect them, pass the customs control and check them in again. All went quite smoothly so we had some time for a beer.
And finally, we arrived in Key West and all our luggage with us. Ok, that‘s no surprise but still ab big relief for us. To put the bikes in a taxi (a mini-van), we unpacked them from the carton and a policeman in front of the airport helped us to get rid of the cartons – a very cool first encounter 🙂
After having arrived at the hotel around 9 p.m., we went for a last beer and then fell in our beds.
