Short summary (May 24th, 2022):
Today, we did a short stage of about 31 miles / 50 km in 4.5 hrs.
After Kennebunk, we quickly arrived to a bike track for about 20 miles, then some smaller roads and again a bike track until shortly before Portland.
As we had only a short distance today, we started quite relaxed with a coffee and nice croissants at the Boulangerie in Kennebunk. Then we came back to the greenway on an nice trail along a former railroad.
After about 20 miles, we briefly went off the trail to have nice fried clams at Ken‘s Place. Thanks again to Jeannine and Tom for this hint.
Then again some bike trackes and smaller roads until Portland.
We entered Portland crossing Casco Bay Bridge.
The good (and bad) thing about Portland – there are many breweries (more that one can reasonably visit in a few days). So tonight, we had a few nice beers in Brickyard Hollow and in Shipyard Brewing. And a very nice dessert ice cream in Gelato Fiasco.
