Day 5: Deerfield Beach – Stuart

Short summary (Apr. 2nd, 2022):
Roughly 70 Miles/113 km, 8hrs 45 min on road, some tailwind.
Again very nice along the beaches (A1A), then crossing Palm Beach without problems. We then decided to stay for some miles on A1 (Saturday, not much traffic) before returning on A1A (Juno Beach), again A1 after Jupiter and back to A1A until Stuart
.

We started again early – and saw tons of people cycling along A1A in the still cool morning. Probably also because it‘s Saturday and people have time for sports.

We then had breakfast in a french café.

Afterwards, we continued on A1A with sometimes very nice houses, but also passing a golf club.

Before Palm Beach, we had to leave the ocean side (one channel has no bridge), passed through the city and decided to stay on A1 for some miles as there was little traffic and a nice bike lane.

Afterwards, we again went along the ocean, then on A1 and back to A1A until we reached Stuart.

Important feature of the hotel we selected – guest laundry. Plus – lucky us, about 1.5 hrs after we arrived, some heavy rain …

Tomorrow, we‘ll stay in Stuart for a first rest day.

Sure, you didn‘t end up in a cycle race this morning? The winner could have been Switzerland! 🏆😜
