Short summary (May 3rd, 2022):
We did a bit a shorter stage today with around 55 miles / 89 km in about 8.5 hrs.
The first 10 miles followed bike lanes on larger highways. As of New Castle very nice trails passing through Wilmington for about 20 miles, afterwards again larger highways through industrial areas and then residential zones entering Philadelphia.
In the morning, we cycled on bike lanes along larger highways also passing Bellanca Airfield. After a brief glance on Delaware river at New Castle, we then followed different bike trails into Wilmington passing Bellevue State Park.
In Wilmington, a memorial monument for Harriet Tubman and Thomas Garrett from the Underground Railroad movement.
Afterwards, we passed through industrial areas entering Pennsylvania and then Philadelphia until we arrived in our hotel in the inner city.
Tonight, we had a short walk in the town center and then a few nice beers in Victory Brewing.
